Katsura is a deciduous, native tree of eastern Asia where it may reach over 100 feet in height. In cultivation the trees are typically much smaller. The heart-shaped leaves are less than two inches long and pale green in color; they are very colorful in autumn. The small male and female flowers are borne on separate trees. The fruit is a cluster of 2-4 small pods.
The lovely round leaves and dense form of mature specimens make this a very beautiful tree.
These trees are three years old and are grown from purchased seed.
