Yellow Lupine is a California native perennial where it is most common in coastal areas. Grown extensively in other areas, this species is found throughout the Northwest.

A member of the Pea family, this is a tall, bushy lupine, sometimes reaching five feet in height but typically smaller. The leaves are grayish-green, palmate, and composed of 5-12 leaflets, each 2-3 inches in length. The pea-like flowers are less than an inch in length and are arranged in a tall raceme (up to 12 inches). The color is a bright yellow, and the flowers are fragrant.

Growing best in full sun, the color of this lupine makes it a beautiful addition to the garden, whether as part of a grouping or as an individual plant.

These plants are grown from seed.
