Oregon Boxwood or Mountain-boxwood is an evergreen shrub most commonly found in middle elevations both east and west of the Cascades. Typically less than two feet in height, it is a rounded shrub covered with short, opposite, dark green leaves. The leaves are elliptical, up to one inch long, and toothed above the midpoint. The flowers are small, maroon in color, with four sepals and four petals. The fruit is tiny as well.
In its native habitat, this species is quite adaptable, found in sites that range from rocky to the edges of meadows, most often in sunnier locations.
These shrubs were grown from cuttings and are in their first season.
