Callery Pear is a small tree native to China where it may reach 50 feet in height. The crowns are dense and symmetrical. The glossy dark green leaves are up to three inches in length; the flowers white with five petals and an inch in diameter. The fruits are small but are a food source for birds. The gray-brown bark is scaly on mature trees. In autumn, the trees may be quite spectacular with colors ranging from yellow to deep red.

Trees are resistant to disease and require little care. Tolerant of a variety of soils and drainage, this is a versatile tree, often used as an ornamental.

These trees are grown from purchased seed and are three years old.
