Red-flowering Currant is a native deciduous shrub that may reach over six feet in height. The leaves are rounded, with 3-5 lobes; they are pale green, up to three inches in length and finely toothed.

As the name implies, this currant is most distinguished by its beautiful reddish-pink flowers. Although small, collectively they are very showy in tall racemes at the branch ends. They are borne in long racemes at the ends of the branches. The fruit is blue-black with a whitish "bloom", and is an added attraction for this plant; they are edible but not tasty.

Red-flowering Currant is a beautiful shrub for the small or large garden.

These plants are grown from cuttings.
