Golden Blue-eyed Grass or California Golden-eyed Grass is a west coast native perennial that grows in open habitats. Not a grass at all, but rather a member of the Iris family, the yellow flowers make this species a unique member of its genus. Up to ten inches in length, the strap-like leaves are tufted, forming an attractive plant.

There are six half-inch long yellow petals on each flower. They are borne on stout stems and are flattened on the top, making a very showy display amongst the dark leaves.

Although they grow well in moist areas, Northwest plants thrive in drier situations in full sunlight or partial shade.
